Who this is between

These terms are an agreement between you and Grant Eadie, the person who makes and runs friendos (“I”, “me”). By making an account you agree to them and to the privacy page.

Who can use friendos

You must be at least 16 years old. One person, one account, under a name your friends would recognize. Keep your password to yourself; what happens on your account is your responsibility.

Your photos are yours

You own what you post. By posting, you give me permission to store your photos and words and show them to the people you’ve accepted, which is the whole job of the app. That permission ends when you delete the post or your account. I will never sell your content, use it in advertising, or use it to train anything.

What isn’t allowed

friendos has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. You may not post, send or do any of the following:

• Anything sexual involving a minor. It will be removed, the account closed, and it will be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and to law enforcement.
• Harassment, bullying, threats, stalking, or encouraging anyone to hurt themselves or others.
• Hate directed at people for who they are.
• Pornography or sexually explicit photos.
• Graphic violence or gore.
• Photos of people posted to shame, expose or intimidate them, or private information about someone without their consent.
• Anything illegal, or anything you don’t have the right to post.
• Spam, advertising, scams, fake accounts, or pretending to be someone else.
• Trying to break, overload, scrape or get around the privacy rules of the service.

Reporting and blocking

You can report any person or post from the ⋯ menu, and block anyone from their profile. A blocked person can’t find you, follow you or see anything of yours, and isn’t told. I review every report within 24 hours and will remove content and close accounts that break these terms. You can also write to hello@friendos.me.

Closing accounts

You can delete your account whenever you like, in Settings. I can remove content or close an account that breaks these terms, without notice when it’s serious. If I close your account by mistake, write to me.

The honest fine print

friendos is a small, free, independent project. It’s provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, and it may change, break, or one day shut down. If it’s going to shut down, I’ll give you notice and time to save your photos. To the extent the law allows, I’m not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and my total liability to you is limited to US $50. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law where you live that can’t be limited.

You’re responsible for what you post. If what you post gets me into legal trouble because it broke these terms or the law, you agree to cover the cost of that.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Washington State, USA, and disputes go to the courts there, unless the law where you live says otherwise.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, I’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using friendos after that, you accept the new terms.
